Left MEPs took to the plenary session of the European Parliament today to once again remind the European Commission that future citizensâ rights and the island of Ireland must not be sacrificed in pursuit of a Brexit agreement with the UK government.
The Parliament is due to vote on a Resolution in Strasbourg on Wednesday and although GUE/NGL - as member of the Brexit Steering Group - has signed up to the motion, it has made clear of its disagreement of the proposals on future militarisation and security cooperation with the UK.

The EU Foreign Affairs Council decided this week to strengthen sanctions against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. Restrictive measures against seven personalities that hold positions of senior responsibility, most of them through popular mandate, will thus be imposed.

GUE/NGL MEPs Lola Sånchez Caldentey (Spain), Anne-Marie Mineur (The Netherlands) and Helmut Scholz (Germany) are pushing for a binding treaty on transnational corporations and human rights at a UN meeting in Geneva today.
